A family member this past weekend ended up having a mild heart attack, and was diagnosed with heart disease. The doctor says that diet and lifestyle changes need to take place, so as a healthy food advocate, I decided to bring some "heart healthy" cookies for the family to try.
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp ground flax
1/4 cup coconut flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp coconut oil
10-20 vanilla stevia drops
1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/4-1/2 cup milk of choice (start with 1/4 cup)
Blend dry ingredients together in a food processor or blender. Mix with other ingredients, form into cookie shapes, and place on a greased cookie sheet. Cook 8-10 minutes at 375 F. Let cool before eating.
Optional nuts or raisins :)
