6 Ways to Enjoy Avocado

I am obsessed with Avocado! I love putting it in my salads everyday. Avocado is a very nutritious and healthy food, packed full of vitamins and other great stuff like:

Vitamin E, which protects your brain, lungs and fights cancer and diabetes

Lutein which protects the eyes

Monounsaturated fat which protects your heart, lowers cholesterol and helps fight belly fat

Fiber, soluble and unsoluble. Soluble fiber slows the breakdown of carbohydrates which keeps you full longer

Folate which protects your heart from heart disease and heart attacks, and protects unborn babies

Oleic acid which helps lower cholesterol

L-carnitine which helps burn fat

Avocados can be used in many different recipes. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use Avocados:

1. Dice and sprinkle into a salad
2. Make guacamole
3. Add to your omelet
4. Make a smoothie
5. Make a homemade salsa and add avocado
6. Make avocado pudding

Avocado Pudding

3 Avocados
1 Tbsp Vanilla
2 Tbsp Agave
Stevia to your liking
1/3 Cup Natural Cocoa
2 Dates(optional)

Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Make sure to scrape down the sides occasionally. If your avocados are a bit dry add a couple tablespoons of rice milk or almond milk. Add the dates for a bit more sweetness!
Mash 2-3 avocados. Add lime juice to your liking(I like lots), pepper, chopped onion, 1 clove garlic minced, and hot pepper flakes(optional). Stir and enjoy!

Chocolate Avocado Silk Smoothie

1/4 cup coconut milk
3/4 cup pure water
5 dates, pitted and soaked in the water
1/4 avocado
1 tablespoon of raw cacao or carob
10 ice cubes

Pour the milk and water into the blender with the dates, avocado, and cacao on top. Blend. Add ice and blend until completely smooth.
Serves 1-2
